Choose Snow Goggles for the Conditions You Ride

There is no single best lens for every day on the mountain. Fit Comes Before Lens Color

The best snow lens cannot help if cold air leaks in around the frame, the foam creates pressure points, or the goggle clashes with your helmet. Put fit at the center of your decision.

A properly fitted goggle should sit evenly across the face, with the foam making consistent contact around your cheeks and nose. It should not pinch your nose, press hard on your temples, or leave a large gap where wind can enter. The strap should hold the goggle secure without being cranked tight enough to cause headaches.

Frame size matters. Small and medium frames suit narrower faces and many younger riders, while larger frames offer broader coverage for bigger faces and riders who prioritize maximum peripheral vision. Serious riders benefit from a two-lens approach: one darker lens for sun and one brighter lens for storms, trees, and flat light. This is especially useful if you ride from first chair through late afternoon, travel between resorts, or spend time in variable alpine weather.

Consider polarization carefully. It can reduce reflected glare in certain conditions, but some riders find it makes icy surfaces or changing snow texture harder to read.
